Homeowner planning guidance
Prepare your property for a concrete installation discussion
A short access and decision checklist helps make a contractor visit more useful.

Document the site without taking risks
Record the proposed location, nearby doors, downspouts and visible drainage concerns. Take photographs from safe positions. Do not excavate, open utility equipment or enter unsafe areas to gather information. Show the contractor what you know and what still needs investigation.
Identify decisions that involve someone else
Check whether an association, landlord, shared-access owner or responsible jurisdiction needs to be consulted. A mailing address does not settle permit jurisdiction. Ask the contractor who will verify requirements and obtain necessary permissions before work begins.
Plan household access
Discuss parking, deliveries, pets and the route to your door. Ask what needs to be moved and when the area must remain unused. Get curing, protection and return-to-use instructions for the actual installation rather than relying on a general internet timeline.
